What is GrannyBakes AI?
GrannyBakes AI is a no-code Windows app for you and your small business: build AI helpers (agents) and step-by-step AI workflows with your own OpenAI key, see what every answer costs, and keep everything on your PC.
You build bakers (AI helpers, also called AI agents) and recipes (AI workflows) without code, try and compare OpenAI models, and learn the AI basics on the way.
Who is GrannyBakes for?
For people who aren't developers: freelancers, small shop owners, creators, students and anyone curious about AI who wants it to do real jobs, such as writing posts, answering customers on Telegram or summarising documents.
Most automation tools are built for companies: servers that run around the clock, hundreds of business apps, teams and a bit of code. GrannyBakes is built for one person on their own PC, in plain words, with every cost in sight. No server, no team, no code.
Why "granny" and baking?
GrannyBakes is just an analogy. Bakers, recipes, ovens and the pantry are friendly names for AI agents, workflows, AI models and knowledge files, so anyone can understand AI, not only developers. The real term is always shown next to it.

Is my API key safe?
Your key is encrypted with Windows (DPAPI) on your PC and is never shown again after you add it. It is only ever sent to the AI provider, to make your requests. It's never sent to us, and it never appears in logs, exports or shared recipes.
Why do I need my own key?
You pay the AI provider directly, at their prices, with no markup. You see what every answer costs, and you can stop any time without losing anything.
How much will OpenAI cost me?
Usually very little. Real examples from GrannyBakes:
- A Cookbook bake costs from about $0.0001 (Telegram Shop Helper) to about $0.007 (Social Post Baker).
- One picture costs $0.011 to $0.053, depending on the oven.

Does my PC need to stay on?
Only for scheduled recipes and Telegram bots: they bake while your PC is on and GrannyBakes is open. The tray is enough, so you can close the window. Everything else runs only when you press Bake.
Which AI providers are supported?
OpenAI today. Anthropic (Claude), Google Gemini, Mistral and others are on the roadmap, and you decide the order through the feedback form.
What does GrannyBakes cost?
It's free while we finish setting up payments. After that, you try every feature free for 14 days, then one yearly price covers every feature, now and later. The price shown in the pricing section is the one that will apply. Your data always stays yours, whatever happens.
Is there a Mac version?
Windows only for now. If you'd like a Mac version, say so in the feedback form: requests decide what comes next.
Where is my data?
On your PC only, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\GrannyBakes, plus the backups you choose to make. Updates never touch it. Your messages go to the AI provider only when you send them, with your own key. Nothing reaches the developer unless you send feedback, allow a crash report or turn on anonymous usage counts, and the app shows you the exact text first (what is sent).
